Mackenzie Worcester of Washburn joined an elite club. She scored the 100th goal of her career yesterday. Worcester has been a scoring machine during her career in Washburn and said joining an elite club feels good.
“It was an awesome feeling. It was my goal at the beginning of this year to try and get it. I knew I had to push myself to achieve the goal.”
Worcester is just a junior and gives the credit for her goal scoring prowess to her teammates
“Like I would give most of the credit to my teammates.. They pass to me and their passes are really good to get that scoring opportunity.”
The defending Eastern Maine Champions go into the playoffs as the number one seed and Worcester said that the team is focused on the playoffs and not individual stats
” Go as far as we can and score as much as we can. Keep the ball out of our defensive area.”
