Kyle Edmund Scott entered the Woodstock Provincial Court in handcuffs for an initial hearing after being charged with the second degree murder of an elderly woman from Richmond Corner last weekend. Scott he was scheduled to enter a plea but that date has been pushed up to October 29th. The victim 82-year-old Sarah Kennedy lived on Route 555 in Richmond Corner. The exact cause of her death has not been revealed though an autopsy was done Monday. At this point, it’s not clear what the motive was behind the alleged murder. The RCMP has said that Scott also stole Kennedy’s car, and Scott is known to police in the area. He was arrested in Harvey Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile Kyle Edmund Scott is being kept in custody until further court proceedings set to take place at the Woodstock Provincial Court later this month. The preliminary inquiry for Scott’s court plea is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Woodstock Provinical Court on October 29th.
