Presque Isle offers many indoor activities, which are especially great during the winter months. Despite the freezing cold weather we have been experiencing, businesses say they have been busy. Kids running all over at The Maine Jump in Presque Isle is not uncommon this time of the year.
“We typically see in the colder temperatures people bringing their kids in after a storm, because everybody for safety reasons, have been cooped up inside so they want their kids to be able to exert some energy and get some of those wiggles out.” Jenna Spoto, co-owner of Maine Jump Presque Isle.
Another great activity is ice skating at the Forum. It’s not only a great workout but it’s a lot of fun as well. Even when there are subzero temperatures outside, Skate Guard Morgan Wilcox says business is not effected.
“It’s not quite as cold in here, but it’s still a winter activity so lots of people are coming,” said Wilcox.
A business that is definitely not striking out on cold days is Northern Lanes Bowling Alley.
“Increase in business with cold weather, they like to come in, get inside and do something where it’s warm,”said Richard Fletcher, a mechanic at Northern Lanes Bowling Alley in Presque Isle.
Regardless of temperatures dropping, these businesses have kept busy and continue to do so all winter long.
