It’s been a common theme so far this sports season The weather has forced the postponement of several games. Len McHatten is the assigner of Officials for High School games in the County. He said that this season had already had several challenges

Here is the comparison between the clean sheet prior to the start of the season and the sheet with all of the changes already.

” That is quite a contrast you can see how the season starts out and then how things go awry when Mother Nature interferes.”

There is a lot more to it then players coaches and officials just show up for the game.

It takes a lot of communication and a lot of time on the phones for everyone involved to make changes to the schedule.

. ADs need to communicate with McHatten they also need to keep bus drivers, coaches, chaperones and administrators in the loop and McHatten keeps an open line of communication open with Athletic Directors and the officials and he says that everyone working together makes the system work and he commends the area officials for their willingness to work when they are needed

“I can’t say enough good about the board and how cooperative the officials have been. The only way you can make this thing work when you have bad weather like this is to have a group of guys who are really cooperative.  I just can’t say enough good about Board 150 and their cooperation with me.”
