Washburn Fire

Washburn Fire & Rescue responded to a fire at a home in Washburn early Saturday morningĀ at a home at 1191 Main Street just after 3:30 am. Crews battled the blaze for about 2 hours with mutual aid from Caribou and Mapleton. The fire was contained to the basement and kitchen area of the home but the home also sustained smoke and water damage. The fire displaced 2 individuals, a male in his mid 40’s and a 16 year old girl. Anyone wishing to offer assistance should contact the Pine Tree Chapter of the American Red Cross or the Town office in Washburn.
