Wardens Seek Critical Information Regarding Missing Hiker

| July 25, 2013

Maine game wardens are asking the public for help in locating Geraldine Anita Largay (pictured in the purple jacket in the above picture). Geraldine “Gerry” is 66 years old and is from Brentwood, Tennessee. She is 5’5” tall, weighs 115 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black pullover shirt, tan pants, a blue hat, and a black & green backpack.

Geraldine’s  plan was to meet her husband on Monday in Wyman Township. She did text her husband at 7:15 that morning but never arrived at their meeting place.

Today, Game wardens learned that an employee of the Stratton Motel received a call from a female hiker. The caller indicated she was travelling south on the Appalachian Trail and had spent Tuesday night with Geraldine at a lean-to on the AT. The name of the female caller is unknown.

The Maine Warden Service desperately needs to identify this hiker and wishes to speak to her about this incident. Anyone with information who can help identify the hiker or may know where Geraldine is, is asked to call Augusta Public Safety Dispatch at 1-800-452-4664.
