A St. Agatha teenager was involved in a two-vehicle accident this morning.
According to Aroostook County Chief Deputy Sheriff Darrell Crandall, the 17-year-old was leaving the St. Agatha school onto Route 162 around 11:30 a.m., when his Ford Focus slid into the path of a southbound tractor-trailer truck operated by Mark Lavway, 51, of Westfield for Northstate Transportation of Caribou.
The car collided with the rear of the Freightliner’s trailer, spun out from under the trailer and stopped when it struck a snowbank.
The teen’s’ airbags did deploy, and the car had major damage to the front end. The tractor-trailer had minor damages. No injuries were reported.
The teenager was issued a summons for operating after suspension.
