Two Injured After Single Vehicle Accident

Two have been hospitalized after a single motor vehicle accident Monday morning. It happened on Route 11 in T14 R6, about 1 mile South of Soucy Hill.

19-year-old Travis Caron of Fort Kent was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban when it went off the road and hit a large tree. Travis was pinned in the vehicle. He was accompanied by his mother, 45 year old Linda Caron of Fort Kent.

Travis’s father was in a separate vehicle at the time of the crash and immediately called 911. EagleLake Fire and Rescue, Ambulance Service Inc. out of Eagle Lake, Saucier’s Towing, Ashland Ambulance and the Ashland Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and assisted in the removal of Travis from the vehicle.

Travis and Linda were transported to the Northern Maine Medical Center. Both were treated for their injuries– the degree of injury to both occupants is unknown at this time.

The vehicle was a total loss. The accident is still under investigation.
