PORTLAND, Maine (AP) – The mother of a Maine toddler who’s been missing since December 2011 is releasing what she says are details of the investigation in hopes of pressuring law enforcement to bring charges.
Trista Reynolds tells WCSH-TV that investigators told her they found her daughter’s blood on the father’s shoes and in his vehicle. Police confirmed only that her blood was found in the father’s bedroom.
Ayla Reynolds was 20 months old when she disappeared from her father’s Waterville home. She’s presumed dead.
Trista Reynolds says whatever happened may have been an accident, but she still wants justice.
State police confirm sharing details of the investigation with Reynolds in a face-to-face meeting in January and in several telephone updates. Police won’t say what details they revealed. The girl’s father declined comment.
