The State Fire Marshals Office has charged a 25 year old transient for setting a fire within a building Thursday night. Scott Grandmaison was charged with Arson for starting a fire inside an equipment barn located at 2579 Riverside Drive, Vassalboro. A passerby noticed a glow in the barn and the owner went to check when he discovered Grandmaison inside. Grandmaison left the barn and was stopped by a State Trooper on Riverside Drive. The fire inside caused little damage and was extinguished by the Vassalboro Fire department. Grandmaision was arrested and transported to the Kennebec County Correctional Facility by Fire Marshal investigators and was being held on 1,000 dollars cash bail.
