State Police say a tractor trailer loaded with potatoes went off Interstate 95 in Carmel late Tuesday night and came to rest in the median after hitting several trees. The driver, 49 year old Scott Rand of Sherman Mills, was not injured. Damage to the cab of the truck was estimated at $15,000 by Trooper Darren Vittum. The trooper cited Rand for a log book violation. It is unclear why the driver lost control. The potatoes were being off loaded to another truck Wednesday and the tractor trailer was expected to be removed later in the afternoon. The crash was reported about 11:30 p.m.
