Ticket Prices Released for New Ferry Service Between Maine and Nova Scotia

| March 25, 2014

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) – Now that initial permission has been received, the operator of a ferry that would connect Maine to Nova Scotia has released ticket prices. ┬áNova Star Cruises Ltd. says one-way tickets will range in price from $79 to $139 for adults and $39 to $64 children, depending on the season. Children under the age of 5 travel for free. Trips between Portland and Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, are scheduled to begin May 1. However the company still needs to show proof of liability coverage before it can begin service. The ferry service received permission to sell tickets last week after it demonstrated to the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission it could refund customers for cancelled trips.
