ISLAND FALLS, ME: Three people were injured in an RV crash at 2:32 this morning.  State police were called to the crash on the Northbound off ramp at the start of the Island Falls construction detour in Island Falls.  The investigation has showed that 62 year old Edward Smith of Chester, Nova Scotia was operating a 1992 Ford motor home heading north on the interstate.  He exited at Island Falls for the construction detour, but did not slow down or stop at the Route 2 intersection.  He ended up going through the guardrail and down a steep embankment, finally coming to a rest in the woods.  There were two other passengers in the vehicle, 64 year old David Pierce and 68 year old Stephen Daubs, both of Nova Scotia.  All three people sustained injuries and were transported to the Houlton Regional Hospital.  The RV was totaled in the crash.
