Many people spend Christmas alone for various reasons, but the Elks Lodge in Presque Isle is helping to make this Christmas less lonely.
“The Elks thought there should be a place where people wouldn’t be alone at Christmas so nine years ago, we decided we would pull together a Christmas Dinner,” says Vicki Delong the Exalted Ruler of Presque Isle Elks Lodge #1954.
The Elks believe that Christmas is a time to be together with people.
“Anyone who wants to come in is invited. We have anyone from the elderly to small families that are coming in. Anyone that would be alone on Christmas is invited to come in,” says Delong.
The Dinner is free and transportation can also be provided for those who do not have a ride. Snacks will be served at 11am and a four-course dinner is served from noon until 1pm. There will be entertainment along with dancing. The Elks ask that you do call the Lodge to make a reservation, so they can get a head count.
