In the midst of GOOD news to reverse a decision to close Sears at the Aroostook Centre Mall; other stores in the mall are trying to play up that good luck and attract more shoppers. That’s why mall stores have teamed up to put on a Summer Fashion show on the Mall Food Court Stage this weekend…
Sears is a central presence at the Aroostook Centre Mall, and the threat of it being no more had the mall hanging by a thread.
Manager of Trader Joe’s Valerie Rossignol says, ” We’re very glad that Sears is staying and everybody in the mall is really happy about it .”
The decision reversal is a big sigh of relief for the County Mall.. but the stores say it calls for a marketing strategy.. And the answer? A Summer Fashion Show.. A whole series of them.
A fashion show that was just held last weekend, but this weekend’s show will be a bit different; showcasing unisex fashion among a wide range of age groups.
Models will take to the food court stage on Saturday to show off clothing from mall stores like Sears, Maurices, and Debs.
Scrubs from Acadia Medical will be on display, as well as a bridal selection from the Seamstress store.
Seamstress Terry Burtchell says, “I would encourage all girls to come out brides to be that are looking, even next year’s brides to come by stop by the Aroostook Centre Mall.”
Manager of Trader Joe’s Valerie Rossignol says, “I think all store sales are down a little bit, everybody’s just trying to get some more business and get some more business into our stores.”
And from an economic standpoint, stores hope that through the fashion show, shoppers will see what they have to offer.. and bring a boost to mall businesses.
