News Source 8’s Angela Christoforos takes us to Star Spangled Celebrations in Limestone, where the annual 4th of July parade took place this afternoon.
Chad Mcneal said, “Yearly tradition, I’ve been coming here for probably close to 35 years.”
Between 500 to 1000 people come to the Limestone 4th of July parade every year.. And this year was no different! Despite a lack of sunshine this 4th of July, no one rained on this parade!
Limestone Chamber of Commerce President Michelle Albert said, “Things turned out really well there’s been no issues, or anything like that it looks like the community and people coming from other communities have come into town for the 4th of July.”
“Come and enjoy the show and see all the tractors and the queens,” said McNeal.
A parade of patriotism… Pageantry… and candy!
And although we all celebrate our country’s independence with parades, fireworks, and BBQ foods..
Veteran Douglas Snell said, “They need to recall how we got about getting these freedoms, many people have fought for these freedoms, and many have given up their lives.”
Fireworks in Limestone are scheduled to start at 9 pm.
