Accident

Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a single vehicle crash in St. Francis a little after 10:00 p.m. Thursday night. Corey Ouellette, 37, of St. Francis was traveling at a high rate of speed and rolled his Chevrolet Impala over on Main Street. The vehicle then caught on fire. Local residents helped Ouellette out of his vehicle and he was taken by Fort Kent Ambulance to Northern Maine Medical Center. He has subsequently been transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor with non-life threatening injuries. Ouellette was alone in the vehicle at the time. Excessive speed is a factor, but the accident remains under investigation. Fort Kent and St. Francis Fire Departments responded to the scene and the State Police were asked to send an accident reconstructionist. The vehicle is a total loss.
