UPDATE FROM MDEA:
MDEA’s lab team executed a search warrant at the home of Felisha Suitter on the Timoney Lake Road in Smyrna on Wednesday afternoon. MDEA Agents had been investigating reports of criminal drug activity at this location for some time and sought a search warrant Wednesday morning. Shortly after 2:00 p.m. MDEA Agents, State Troopers and Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at Suitter’s mobile home, armed with that search warrant. Suitter attempted to flee through a rear entrance, but was unsuccessful.
The search took several hours as team members in chemical and fire resistant suits and breathing apparatus scoured the trailer and an outbuilding on the property. Agents and the team’s forensic chemist seized equipment, chemicals and other items used in the making of methamphetamine, as well as an unspecified amount of the finished product. The Department of Environmental Protection assisted at the scene, as did the Oakfield and Houlton Fire Departments.
Suitter, 32, was arrested, taken to the Aroostook County Jail and charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Methamphetamine – a Class A crime. The offense is aggravated because of a prior drug conviction. If convicted, Suitter faces a minimum four-year prison sentence.
