WAGMTV is committed to the local development of the communities they serve.

WAGMTV’s scholarship assists persons pursuing higher education as a commitment to individual growth and a desire to benefit the entire community.

The WAGMTV Scholarship provides two individuals awards of $1,000 per academic year, awarded in two equal payments of $500 each at the beginning of the fall and the spring semester and paid directly to the school. Recipients may receive the scholarship award each year for up to four years, provided they continue to meet the eligibility requirements for the award, and have maintained a good academic standing, a grade point average of 2.0 or better and make progress towards a degree.


WAGMTV scholarship program is limited to Aroostook County, Me residents. Applicants must be enrolling for first time as a full-time candidate in a two or four year degree program at any of the following educational institution in Aroostook County, Maine: University of Maine, Presque Isle, University of Maine, Fort Kent, Northern Maine Community College, Presque Isle or Husson College, Presque Isle.


In addition to the application form, applicants must submit

  1. A letter of intent explaining your goals and objectives and how you will use your college education to reach your goals and benefit your community.
  2. A letter of recommendation, from a person with first-hand knowledge of your academic ability and achievement, including extra-curricular activities.
  3. A letter of recommendation from a person with first-hand knowledge regarding your community activities.
  4. A transcript from your high school or GED certificate, or if you have been out of school for over 2 years, a summary of your work
