Big Rock Mountain is getting ready for Rustic Overtones to rock the lodge Friday night. Event Coordinator, Jon Adams has been a fan of this band for years and thought that having them perform would be a great fundraiser for the mountain.
“I just sent them a simple Facebook message, because the last time they were here was 11 years ago,” said Adams.
Within 35 minutes, he got a response from the band saying if he put the event together they’d be there. When Jon approached Big Rock about the event, their response was positive as well.
“As part of our new business model we have events like this that we are trying to plan and kind of help us raise fund in a different way, in a fun way for the area and when we were approached with this idea it was a no-brainer,” said Jeff Clockedile, Marketing rentals at BigRock.
BigRock has an overall fundraising goal of $300,000. Money raised at this event will go towards that goal.
“Anything we can make off this to get us closer to that goal, no particular goal in mind,” said Clockedile.
Since it is the holiday season, attendees are asked to wear their ugliest Christmas sweaters to the event. Wally and the Virginian will get things going first as the opening act and later the Rustic overtones will take the stage.
Tickets for the event can be pre-purchased at the lodge, Bike/Board/Ski, Bradley’s Car Wash, or Harvest Market in Fort Fairfield. Pre-purchase ticket price will be $12 or $15 at the door.
