The Presque Isle High School Gymnasium is undergoing a major facelift. The project began earlier this summer and is continuing.
Athletic Administrator Mark White says ” The renovation entails replacing our bleachers that are over 50 years old. Also removal of the old floor and total replacement of the floor which also was original with the building. It’s going to be a safer more modern facility once we are done.
The bleachers will be much more comfortable for fans with individual seating .
White says “‘ The bleachers are going to be all mechanical no more pulling out and pushing back in by hand they are all going to be operated by a button or a key. They will be school colors.”
The work will continue for the next few weeks with lines on the floor and the installation of the bleachers.
“The floor should be done in a couple of weeks. The bleachers will be done in mid September and by the end of harvest we hope to have everything in place for basketball that starts the end of November.”
The Athletic Administrator feels that students and fans will enjoy the facelift
White says ” Anytime there is something new the kids are excited. Hopefully the public will be too. They will be coming into a more modern cleaner facility.”
