Firefighters have gotten a three-alarm fire in Portland’s Old Port district under control.┬áThe blaze broke out early Thursday morning around 1:30 a.m at a multi-story commercial building on Wharf and Fore streets. Dozens of tenants of upper floor apartments were evacuated…. Luckily no injuries were reported. Several businesses are housed in the building… The fire is believed to have started at Joe’s New York Pizza… Although there was no immediate word on a cause. The fire was under control by 5 am… The Fire chief on the scene said it was difficult to tame because of the buildings ages and its tight spaces. The entire Portland fire department and crews from several surrounding towns helped to put out the blaze.
