Police Searching for Man Considered “Armed and Dangerous”

PRESS RELEASE FROM STEVE MCCLAUSLAND AT 2:55PM SATURDAY:

 

Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 5:45 AM to respond to a domestic violence call at 754 Main St. in St. Francis, Maine. State Police were called as well to respond.  Before arriving, information was obtained that a woman, age 31, had been shot and killed. Witnesses in the home advised that they saw Jesse Marquis leave the residence and enter the woods behind the house with a rifle.

State Police, Aroostook County Sheriff’s office, US Border Patrol and US Customs and Border Protection are actively searching for 38 year old Jesse Marquis. Marquis is described as 5’7” tall, 150 pounds with black hair and blue eyes. He was wearing blue jeans , green hooded sweatshirt and a Cabela’s ball cap. Marquis was last seen entering the woods on the south side of Rt. 161.

State Police is asking for the public’s help in locating Marquis. We ask if you see Marquis or someone matching his description to call State Police in Houlton at 207-532-5400 or Aroostook County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-638-8477.

We strongly recommend that no one approach Marquis as he is considered armed and dangerous.
