PORTLAND, Maine (AP) – The prostitution scandal involving a Zumba instructor in a postcard-perfect Maine town is rapidly drawing to a close.
The final five cases are awaiting resolution and that could happen in coming weeks, either with pleas or trials. After that, prosecutors anticipate no further charges because judges ruled that the woman, Alexis Wright, cannot be forced to testify.

The scandal in Kennebunk, captured international attention a year ago with reports that there were as many as 100 to 150 names on a ledger and that clients were videotaped without their knowledge.

All told, charges were brought against 68 accused clients. There have been 61 convictions and one acquittal. Charges were dropped in one case. Wright, who pleaded guilty, is due to be released from jail before year’s end.
