Thayne Ormsby has lost his appeal to the Maine Supreme Court. Ormsby is serving a life sentence for killing two men and a 10 year old boy three years ago. Ormsby had claimed that police violated his fifth amendment rights when they interviewed him in July of 2010. This interview took place about two weeks after Jeffrey Ryan, his son Jesse Ryan and Jason Dehahn were found stabbed to death at Ryan’s home. Police said Ormsby confessed to the murders during the interview. In a unanimous ruling, the high court said no mistakes were made in allowing Ormsby’s statement to be used at trial or in sentencing Ormsby to three concurrent life sentences.
