One Man Shot and Another is Found Dead in Princeton

PRINCETON, ME: The owner of a campground in Princeton was shot Tuesday afternoon, by a man, who was later found dead inside his vehicle.  That’s according to state police. 60 year old Steve Whitman is being treated at EMMC in Bangor for two gunshot wounds.  He is expected to survive.  Whitman was able to identify his assailant as 52 year old Craig Woodruff of Baileyville.  Woodruff was found dead a short distance away inside of his SUV, along the Long Lake Camp Road.  His body will be transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta for an autopsy.  Whitman called 911 to report the shooting a few minutes before 5 PM Tuesday.  Both men did know each other.  The state police are still investigating the shooting.
