A man has been taken into custody after firing approximately 70 rounds earlier today in Bangor.
Police received a call at 8:30 a.m. for a report of a man firing shots on Park Street. They created a perimeter several blocks wide and evacuated residents in and around the building.
Police negotiated for two hours and finally used tear gas to get him out of the building.
The man’s identity and the charges to be brought against him are unknown. He has been taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
