| July 30, 2013

The Inn of Acadia opened it’s doors just a short month ago… And the hotel owner Jonathan Roy says, it’s hit the ground running…

” I think we’re ahead of our expectations early on, we’ve had a lot of really good guests and businesses travelers have been really good during the week.”

So good.. That since the hotel’s opening July 1st.. They’ve already had a couple of nights at FULL occupancy.

” We’ve been well received by our guests and the community with both the hotel and the lounge.”

It’s Voyageur Lounge is a hot spot… And Each room is different from the next… With modern d├ęcor and special attention to detail.

The building was built in 1956 as a convent. And in 1980, it was used as a senior care facility. But it’s been idle for the past 8 years until July 1st when it was reopened as the Inn of Acadia.

Roy says the Inn of Acadia was a 2-year undertaking… That resulted in a modern day 16-room boutique hotel with rich history.

” My goal is to hopefully attract more tourists to the area, to Madawaska, to the St. John Valley, to Northern Aroostook County and to Aroostook County it’s, there’s a lot to see up here.”

Roy says that with the upcoming Acadian festival… They’re expecting a full house. And steady traffic will be coming in the hotel throughout the whole month of August.
