County girl wins Miss Maine U.S. International Crown

| October 1, 2013

Local pageants in the County have been a part of one girls life for years; and now that same girl that was born and raised in Presque Isle gets to represent not just the County, but the entire state on the National level, as well as the chance to compete for the national title of one of the largest pageant systems in the world.

Brittany Bearden is an Assistant Manager at Panscofar’s Boutique, and a recent graduate of UMPI. But what you might not know about her is she’s a pageant queen; and she just won the state title of the 3rd largest pageant system in the world.

Brittany Bearden, Miss Maine U.S. International 2014 says, “It’s an honor really being born and raised here being able to represent your state.”

Brittany shined in evening gown, on stage question, and the swimsuit phases of competition that won her the Miss Maine U.S. International Crown in September.

Brittany Bearden, Miss Maine U.S. International 2014 says, “I can get up in front of a crowd and not be scared, my speaking ability my interview skills have really improved from that.”

Brittany says one of her favorite things about being a pageant queen is getting to wear the rhinestone embellished crown to appearances- but there’s a lot more to being a pageant titleholder than meets the eye.

Brittany Bearden, Miss Maine U.S. International 2014 says,  “If you’ve never been on stage before getting up on stage is something to overcome for girls. Getting on stage in swimsuit is not the easiest thing either when you have a lot of people all eyes are on you.”

She has about 9 months to prepare for nationals and during that time she’ll be traveling the state making appearances, hitting the gym and of course getting a glamorous wardrobe in order! But with the former title of Miss Maine Collegiate America and several local pageants under her belt, she’s feeling pretty confident.

Brittany Bearden, Miss Maine U.S. International 2014 says, ” I’m still working I want the national title I’m not giving up yet.”

Only one person gets to walk away with the crown; and Brittany says she’s in it to win it.

Brittany Bearden will be in Orlando, Florida from June 23rd to the 29th to compete in the national Miss U.S. International Pageant; and if she wins the national title, she’ll get to compete in the Miss International pageant which will be held in Asia.
