The Caribou Wellness Center is a community facility that’s utilized by people of all ages from young children to senior citizens. Kathy Mazzuchelli, Superintendent of the Caribou Parks and Recreation Center said,  “This particular facility I think has developed into a really integral part of the community, we probably average 30, 35 thousand people day users between October 1st and April 30th.”

The Caribou Parks and Recreation Center has teamed up with a University of Southern Maine graduate student to compile a survey in order to better suit the wants and needs of people that utilize it.

Lead Researcher and Graduate Student Cherie Black said, “If you want to be successful as an organization you actually have to take the time to go and find out what it is that the people who you’re basically offering services to want.”

The survey contains questions related to patrons interest in a variety of programs, how much they’d be willing to pay for them as well as ways of generating revenue for the Rec Center. Filling out the survey is an easy process that won’t take more than 2 minutes of your time that can be done from the comfort of your own computer.

Kathy Mazzuchelli, Superintendent of the Caribou Parks and Recreation Center said, “I’ve been here 30 years and I’ve seen huge changes in the offerings that people would like to have. What we’re looking for is that this survey will give us a blue print to be able to plan for the next 4 or 5 years, some things that we haven’t even thought of.”

The survey has 9 questions in total, 7 multiple choice and 2 open-ended questions for additional input and ideas that will help improve what the Rec Center has to offer.

Members of the Rec center helped generated the survey questions which will be available online until November 30th. You can take the survey at this link ->

At some point during the first week of December a focus group will be held to analyze the results the survey has generated.
