Making people’s lives just a little bit easier. That’s what Gary Hebert of US cellular says is the goal of today’s technology.

“Everybody’s got things going on…wireless to transmit information through the systems is the way to go,” he said.

Check out the Delphi Vehicle Monitoring System — Store Manager Gary Hebert says it’s great for new drivers — to monitor their location and speed.

“If you got over that speed, your iPhone your android device will get an alert,” he said.

And Hebert says it’s a popular item among businesses who want to control their fuel consumption, make sure their drivers are safe, and be more accurate for customers on arrival times. Hebert showed us another helpful device — this one for your home. The WebMo Home Automation Switch lets you control home appliances from your smartphone.

“Let’s say you forget to turn off one of your lights when you leave the house..or if your downstairs and you want to turn the TV off upstairs, you just tie this into the switch and you can turn it off with your phone,” he said.

The device uses a WiFi signal and can also track the amount of energy items you are using and estimate the cost — which can result in saving money. The last and most popular item — somewhat of a blast from the past…the home phone. Hebert says customers will save money by having unlimited nationwide calling for just 20 bucks a month.

“It’s portable so if they have camps..or if they’re traveling they can bring this with them..and use their own home phones with them,” said Hebert.
