An inspection report shows big issues with the Houlton-based truck and trailer involved in a fatal accident in New Hampshire last week.
As you may recall, a wheel flew off the trailer heading south on I-93 in Hooksett New Hampshire. The trailer belongs to Houlton-based Crawford Homes. 51 year old Alan Condon of Oakfield was the driver of the truck.
The wheel bounced off a northbound state police cruiser then flew back into the southbound lane hitting and another car and killing it’s driver.
According to the report, a Maine State Inspection shows the truck’s brakes were inadequate for safe stopping and the remaining wheels had improper braking.
The report says the truck and trailer should have been taken out of service.
