It’s almost time for that one special day a year dedicated to celebrating Moms. News Source 8’s Angela Christoforos has more on how people have been preparing to making their moms feel special this Mother’s Day weekend….

Dylan Mitchell said, “They’re the one that brought you into this world, it’s just a really special day to show them how much you appreciate them.”

It’s the one day of the year dedicated to celebrating Moms and all that they do. And there’s so many ways to say I love you on Mother’s Day.

Flowers are always a big seller on Mother’s Day, at Cook’s Florist there’s at least 200 flower arrangements ready to be delivered.

Owner of Cook’s Florist Karen Duncan said, “Business picks up quite a bit during Mother’s Day, and we have a very large crew helping us out this week. We have gorgeous arrangements going out the front door and we have a lot of customers coming in.”

Duncan says that an average of 400 to 500 arrangements are prepared in the week leading up to the big day. Places like Wilder’s Jewelry have also had lines out the door.

Wilder’s Jewelry Sales Associate Ariana Patterson said, “We’ve actually been busy for 2 weeks everyday this week we’ve gotten a bit busier than the day before.”

Mother’s Day is also a BIG day for the restaurant industry and a good time to take mom out for a good meal.

Owner of Governor’s Restaurant in Presque Isle Anthony Sullivan said, “Mother’s Day is a pivotal day for us cause it kind of marks the start of our really busy season throughout the year.”

Whether you treat your mom to a nice meal, a flower bouquet, jewelry, or all of the above; it’s just a nice way to say…

” Hey mom, happy mother’s day, and I love you,” said Mitchell.

We checked in with a few restaurants in our area, and the people that work their tell us Mother’s Day is one of their busiest days of the year.
