A snowmobiler, missing since Sunday morning, was found safe and sound nearly 24 hours after leaving to go sledding on his own. At approximately 6:30 Monday morning, game wardens located Paul Lessard, 65, of Milford, Massaxhusetts, on local club trail 92A, approximately 4.3 miles south of Route 161 in St John Plantation. Lessard was reported missing by friends at approximately 11:00 PM Sunday evening. He was last seen Sunday morning at approximately 9:00. He planned on riding from St Francis to Portage Lake via ITS 85. Mr. Lessard was supposed to return for dinner at 7:00 Sunday evening. Several game wardens responded and started searching trails by snowmobile.Weather conditions in Fort Kent overnight were clear with temperatures near 20 degrees below zero. Lessard stated he became stuck Sunday morning at approximately 11:30 and remained with his snowmobile for nineteen hours until discovered by game wardens. Lessard was cold but did not need medical attention. Wardens helped Lessard back onto the trail and followed him back to a residence in St. Francis.
