Two hunters who went missing after they left the Chamberlain Lake region have been found. Game wardens found the two men alive near Eagle Lake Township Sunday evening just before 6pm.
33 year olds Travis Hafford and Ryan Stevens of Millinocket were reported missing early Saturday according to the Maine Warden Service. The two had left Friday morning between 6:00 and 7:00 AM to go hunting near Clayton Lake. Details of why they went missing are being investigated. As many as a dozen wardens, several K-9 teams, and aircraft were deployed into the area to search. U.S. Border Patrol and the Maine Forest Service also assisted.
While searching for Stevens and Hafford, game wardens found a vehicle owned by 67-year-old Renald Poulin of Quebec. His car was found in the Chamberlain Lake region. He had crossed into the U.S. on Thursday and was supposed to return on Friday. Several Maine game wardens and dog teams have been assigned to search for him.
