Marijuana Grow Operation Dismantled

| February 13, 2014

Saint-Quentin RCMP and Northeast District RCMP Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant Wednesday at a residence on Highway 17 in Saint-Quentin, N.B.

A large grow operation, containing three stages of marijuana production, was discovered. Items seized include 450 marijuana plants, over four pounds of harvested, drying marijuana plants and two hunting rifles. The plants alone had the potential to produce up to 225,000 marijuana cigarettes (joints).

Two men, aged 20 and 55 years, were arrested at the scene. They were later released on a promise to appear in Campbellton Provincial court on May 8, where it is expected they will face drug and firearms related charges. The investigation continues.
