ORLAND, Maine (AP) – A 21-year-old man has died in a head-on crash in Orland. Authorities say the weather may have been a factor. The victim, who’s name has not been released, was heading north on U.S. Route 1 just after 4 p.m. Monday when he lost control and his car crossed the center line. The car collided head-on with another vehicle. The 21-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. The crash remains under investigation. Police do say roads were slushy and icy at the time.
