| October 8, 2013

Bangor, ME: A Waldo man has been sentenced to two years for Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.  25 year old Jesse Newton was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Bangor to two years of imprisonment and three years of supervised release for unlawful possession of ammunition by a person convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.

On January 5, 2012, law enforcement agents seized 10 rounds of .357 caliber, .30-30 caliber, and .270 caliber ammunition during the execution of a search warrant at Newton’s home.  Newton was prohibited from possessing the ammunition as a result of a 2011 conviction in Maine for domestic violence assault.
