Katahdin Cedar Log Homes of Oakfield has been in the business of log homes for nearly 40 years. After constructing hundreds of cedar log homes, the company is introducing a new type of product to the market. New Source 8′s Angela Christoforos fills us in one what that is…
Marketing Director of Katahdin Cedar Log Homes Gabriel Gordon said, “We’ve been able to reach a level of refinement that we’ve never been able to reach before, and it’s something kind of really unique in the log home industry. Basically what we’re doing with Arborwall is kind of re-imagining and re-thinking what it is to be a log home what it means to be a log home.”
Arborwall is described as an urban log home that has all of the same benefits a traditional log home does: energy efficiency, durability, and sustainability.
“We can produce a home that has all of the benefits of full log construction, it’s structural stability, the energy efficiency components, all of those things all of the benefits that you get with a solid log home are in an Arborwall home,” said Gordon.
The biggest difference is in the appearance. Arborwall’s contemporary look appeals to various types of settings and to homeowners that don’t want the typical rustic-looking log home.
“Totally different look and feel on the exterior as well as the interior so you get total design versatility,” said Gordon.
Gordon also says that in the long run these homes last for hundreds of years and are financially sustainable; saving money on energy bills each year.
Arborwall Solid Cedar Homes is sister company to Katahdin Cedar Logs that are both under the parent company of Katahdin Forest Products based in Oakfield.
