Jesse Marquis is now in police custody after surrendering to police Friday morning.  Marquis was captured alive shortly after 8 AM at the base of a tree about three miles into the woods of St. Francis.  Marquis was arrested at gunpoint, he surrendered without incident.  A hunting riffle was seized from Marquis at the time of his capture.  He was found by a bloodhound from Strafford County New Hampshire Sheriff’s Office.  The Bloodhound, named “Daisy Mae” picked up the scent about 90 minutes before Marquis was found.  Two members of the State Police tactical team took Marquis into custody.  Marquis was found near the St. Francis dump.  He was the subject of a huge search for the past week in connection with the fatal shooting of his girlfriend, Amy Theriault, last Saturday.  Marquis is currently being processed at the Fort Kent Police Department.  He will be transported to the Aroostook County Jail later Friday.  He is expected to make his first court appearance on Monday.
