Hit and Run Update

At approximately 7:45 p.m Wednesday evening, Presque Isle Police received a 911 call regarding a car/bicycle accident on the Chapman Road in Presque Isle.

Presque Isle PD along with Crown Ambulance and Fire & Rescue responded and found 44 year old Bobbie Jo Cameron of Presque Isle had been struck from behind by a vehicle traveling south on the Chapman Road.  Ms. Cameron was with her 24 year old son, Dustin, of Woodland, when the accident occurred. He was on foot and was uninjured.

According to witnesses, the car slowed after the collision, but failed to stop at the scene. It’s described as a dark colored sedan. Pieces of the car were left behind and collected as evidence.

Cameron was transported to the Aroostook Medical Center where she was treated and has been released

Police  say someone did call them to report that they may be the person who hit Cameron.
