High Speed Chase Ends in Arrest of Linneus Man

HOULTON, ME: A high speed chase ends in the arrest of a Linneus man.  31 year old Jesse Sawyer of Linneus was arrested and charged with; Operating while License suspended or revoked, which is a Class E misdemeanor, Eluding an officer a class C felony, Refusing to submit to arrest, a class D misdemeanor, Theft by receiving stolen property, a class B felony and Violating conditions of release a class C felony.  When officers tried to pull Sawyer over for speeding, he led the police on a high speed car chase that ended when Sawyer pulled into a parking lot, exited the vehicle and ran into the woods.  Officers soon apprehended him.  Tools that were allegedly stolen during a series of burglaries overnight in Littleton were found in Sawyers vehicle.  The estimated value of the stolen property was $10,000.  The investigation is ongoing.  Sawyer was recently arrested in Ellsworth with two other individuals involving a meth bust.
