The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency has charged a Lincoln County couple with selling heroin. This was after their car was stopped last night and agents found $72,000 worth of heroin inside. Charged with aggravated trafficking of heroin is Nicholas Buscanera, 21, of Westport and Stephanie Little, 28, of Edgecomb. Drug agents have been working for months on the importation of heroin in Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties and developed information that the pair would be traveling out of state by car yesterday to obtain heroin. Late Thursday night, Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped their car along Route 1 in Woolwich at the request of MDEA . A search of the vehicle found two bags that contained a total of 72 grams of heroin, the equivalent of 2,880 individual doses with a street value of $72,000.
Both Buscanera and Little were taken to Two Bridges Jail where bail was set at $5,000 each. Both are being held in lieu of bail and were due in court this afternoon. Assisting MDEA in this investigation were Bath Police, Lincoln and Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Offices.
