The US Customs and Border Protection Office says it sent an accident investigation team to the site of the crash landing made by a CBP Helicopter this weekend in Houlton.
On Friday night the chopper landed 300 feet off the end of the runway onto the grass… Houlton Police say the engine compartment of the border patrol helicopter caught on fire. Crews were able to extinguish it.. Customs and Border Protection tell NewsSource 8 nobody was injured. The Houlton Fire Chief was unavailable for comment over the weekend or Monday. CBP says the cause of the crash is yet to be determined pending the investigation.
