It was an afternoon treat for Woodland Elementary students… an exciting visit from two Harlem Superstars.
“When we come to these small towns- they probably don’t get to see NBA players so we’re their Superstars and we can get that message across,” said Donnie Seale. “To come in here, it’s very valuable to them and at least we’re giving back to the community.”
Superstar players like Seale and Charles Henson visit schools all over the world. On Friday, they were in Woodland… spreading an anti-bullying message and having a little bit of fun at the same time.
“Bring some smiles to their faces, bring some happiness to their life and hopefully, they’ll take our word for it about education, and no bullying, stuff like that,” said Henson.
The Superstars are in the County putting on two shows in Houlton and Caribou. It’s a family-friendly event, providing both entertainment and good old fashioned basketball.
“Expect to laugh, a lot of excitement, and a lot of crowd participation.,” said Seale. “We like to interact with the crowd so you never know who might get picked to come out and do a skit with us.”
The Superstars will be performing Friday night at the Houlton high school gym, and Saturday in the Caribou high school gymnasium.
