Frenchville Native to be Ordained to the Priesthood

| June 3, 2014

MADAWASKA—Deacon Brad Morin will be ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Robert P. Deeley at St. David Church in Madawaska on Friday, June 6, at 4 p.m.

Born in Upper Frenchville, Deacon Morin, 30, graduated from Madawaska High School in 2002 before attending Saint Joseph’s College in Standish where he earned his BA in philosophy in 2006. He completed a master’s degree in theology this spring from St. Mary’s Seminary & University in Baltimore, the nation’s first and oldest seminary.

“It has been a long road up to this point, going back to when I first signed up on the diocesan vocations list back in 1999 as a 15-year-old freshman in high school,” he said. “The best way to describe the feeling is that it’s like coming home.”

Deacon Morin was active in the church from a young age, sharing the readings at Mass when he was just ten years old. Being ordained at his home parish holds special significance.
