Former Caribou Fire Chief to Be Sentenced Today

Caribou, ME – Former Caribou Fire Chief Roy Woods faces sentencing today at the Caribou Superior Court. Woods, 68, pleaded guilty June 7th to two counts of unlawful sexual contact, two counts of assault and one count of unlawful sexual touching. Each count carries a maximum sentence of up to 364 days in jail.

Woods resigned from his post as Fire Chief in 2012 citing medical reasons. Several months later he was indicted by the Aroostook County Grand Jury. The charges involve two female victims and the incidents took place between 2009 and 2011.  Woods served the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department for 44 years. Sentencing is scheduled for 1 pm.
