This was a big weekend for the valley. Lots of events going on including the World Acadian Congress and Freedom Fest in Fort Kent. One of the highlights of the Freedom fest was a very special jump from First Lady Anne LePage and Quadruple Amputee Staff Sergeant Travis Mills. The jump took place with the All Veteran Group, and went off without a hitch.

“I say in almost every speech that I give, that supporting our troops is not something that we do because it’s nice or because it makes us feel good, supporting our men and women in uniform is a duty that we have as Americans,” said first Lady LePage in her opening remarks.

After hitting the ground to much applause Mills said, “I wasn’t scared at all.”

First Lady LePage responded with a, ” You Lie, You Lie.”

Governor Paul LePage and his family were there to show first lady LePage a ton of support. They were very relieved to see her hit the ground safely.
