Everyone loves to eat, and across the border in Florenceville-Bristol the 6th Annual Festival of Flavour promotes just that! It’s a celebration of hospitality with food, arts, and entertainment.
Tourism Coordinator of Florencville-Bristol Charles Walker says, “The festival itself, it’s in a small town we have 16 to 1700 residents in our town here, it’s nice that a small community like this can do an event like this of this caliber.”
And what better place to get fired up about French fries than Florencville-Bristol, New Brunswick?
Owner of Bisque & Biscotti Sarah Nicholson says, “This is the French Fry capital of the world, so that’s why we’re doing all fired up about french fries.”
Just one event in the week long Festival of Flavour. At Bisque & Biscotti on Main Street, owner Sarah Nicholson showed kids how to prepare the local staple.
Owner of Bisque & Biscotti Sarah Nicholson says, “Get them excited about french fries and making french fries with our local potatoes. We’re going to oven bake them to have a little added health benefit, so that we don’t have all the extra fat and they taste just as good.”
So after the kids cut the potatoes, And put the fries in the oven, they passed the time by painting french fry ceramics.
