UMFK’s Acadian Archives exhiibt “Acadie Mythique”

Art galleries and museums in northern Maine are collaborating to present the first exhibition of a group project bringing together five art galleries and historical museums, sixteen artists and five exhibition venues across the geographic territory of Acadian communities. The exhibition l’Acadie mythique is a project of Saint Mary’s University Art Gallery in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The University of Maine at Fort Kent Blake Library Gallery will host exhibit “Eclectic Miscellany” by Artist Michelle Richardson. The exhibit will be on display from Monday, July 28 through Thursday, August 14, 2014. Take a walk through the fascinating history of Aroostook County at the Historical Pavilion at the Northern Maine Fair.  Over 40 museums, historical societies, and long-time county businesses will display their history with exhibits, living history demonstrations, antiques and artifacts including many hands-on interactive exhibits.  Admission is free with paid admission to the Fair.  The Pavilion takes place in the Forum on Tuesday, July 29 through Thursday, July 31 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
